In a recent statement, Prestige Chituru, Chukwuebuka’s employer, revealed that Ebuka was discovered in Anambra state alongside approximately 20 other individuals who had been kidnapped.

Back in April 2023, Ebuka boarded a taxi that allegedly belonged to a group involved in organ trafficking.

His intended destination was Choba in the Obio/Akpor Local Government Area of Rivers State for a job opportunity, but he never arrived.

Chituru explained that upon reaching Rumuokoro, Ebuka became uncomfortable due to the conversation among the individuals in the vehicle.

When he expressed his desire to exit the vehicle, they refused to let him and even brandished a gun when he tried to argue.

Subsequently, they blindfolded him, and he found himself in a room with other people.

Chituru further recounted that every day, the kidnappers would select one or two individuals from the room, gradually decreasing the group’s size.

Eventually, they were moved to a different location.

The victims managed to escape when a local vigilante group in the Ozobulu area of Anambra State intercepted the vehicle that was being used to transport them.

Chituru explained;

The kidnappers intended to relocate the victims when they encountered the vigilante group, which prompted the latter to question the contents of the vehicle. A fight broke out during the confrontation, with shots being fired. In the chaos, Ebuka removed his blindfold, alerted others in the vehicle, and together they fled into the nearby bush.”
