The governors who paid Wike a visit on Tuesday night in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, claimed they were looking for a resolution to the turmoil that was roiling the party.
It was reported that the meeting between the Governorship Candidates and Wike took place behind closed doors for nearly two hours at the governor’s country residence in the Obio-Akpor Local Government Area.
Hitvibz gathered that the PDP Governorship Candidates were sent back to the National Working Committee (NWC) of the party after Wike maintained that they are in the right position to address the situation.
Isa Muhammed, the Kaduna Governorship candidate of the party, however, claimed on their behalf that after hearing from Atiku Abubakar, the party’s presidential candidate, they made the decision to pay attention to Wike.
He claimed that they are also concerned about their chances of winning the state elections.
Muhammed hailed their discussions with governor Wike as productive and stated that they will take all of the concerns to the National Working Committee for decision and, maybe, have a resolution.
His statement reads;
“The talks were fruitful, open discussions with sincerity and we are home and dry. We discuss issues that border on the situation within the party and internal matter is not something you should look for details.
“We have discussed with the presidential candidate and we are here with our brother and friend and issues that border on what is happening have been sorted out. The issues have been resolved as far as I am concerned because we have heard from both sides. And we are going to meet with the National Working Committee to take a decision”.
