While speaking about PDP crisis, Rivers State governor, Nyesom Ezenwo Wike declared that all those who keep claiming that they can have it all to themselves within the Peoples Democratic Party would soon face the consequences. A day of reckoning is coming - Governor Wike on PDP crisis

The governor claimed that no one can actually stop him from voicing out against such injustice and from calling for what is just to be done.

Governor Wike stated this on Wednesday at the inauguration of Emohua campus of Rivers State University, and the flag-off of staff quarters, performed by Seyi Makinde, governor of Oyo State.

When the day of reckoning arrives, such people, according to the governor of Rivers State, will certainly account for all of their wrongdoings.

That is why I am telling the people there, look, it cannot work. You can’t take everything. If you take everything, it will purge you. So, better do the right thing now. Don’t sit there and think that you can muscle me and you can do everything, you can manipulate anything. You can think you have the number to make sure you take everything, but the time is coming when you will account for it.” – Wike said.

Governor Wike stated that the completion of quality projects by him and his fellow governors will benefit the PDP in each of their States. He strongly believes it will be incorrect for PDP States to ask for votes from the voters if they haven’t provided decent government.

If any PDP State is not doing well, don’t think you will be voted for because APC is not doing well. If PDP state, for example, if in Rivers State we didn’t do well, then you’ll say because APC did not do well at the national, then the people will vote for us. They’ll tell you PDP you didn’t do well in Rivers State. People don’t understand that. And that is why the party should respect us and know that we are the ones campaigning for the party. Because we have what to use to campaign.” – he said.

The governor added that his administration has evaded the problem that most governments experience because they fail to set aside the necessary budget for the projects they conceptualize, which leads to them leaving a trail of unfinished projects all over the place.

No project that he awards would be abandoned, he claimed, because his government allots enough funding to finish them when they are planned.

Governor Wike emphasized that the creation of many campuses for RSU is important for expanding educational access, giving more room for efficient teaching and learning, and boosting the economy of remote areas.

I told the pro-chancellor and chairman of governing council they we have to establish satellite campuses so that the main campus will leverage on other facilities that have been occupied by some of these faculties. Secondly, it will have to bring development to these areas. I do not believe in establishing so many universities for establishment sake. Yes, there is need for access to education, having created this campus, you are also creating access.” – the governor said.

The governor announced that all of the state’s higher institutions had started receiving capital funds thanks to his administration. He said that all higher institutions in the State have received approval from his government to employ both academic and non-academic workers.
