The Rivers State Government has reiterated its commitment to support the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) members in its mission to shape the future of Nigerian youth.
Governor Sir Siminalayi Fubara made this pledge during the swearing-in ceremony of the 2024 Batch B Stream 1 Corps members at the NYSC Permanent Orientation Camp in Nonwa-Gbam, Tai Local Government Area, Hitvibz reports.
Represented by Mr. Hamilton Amadi, the Permanent Secretary of the Cabinet Office of the Secretary to the State Government, Governor Fubara emphasised his administration’s dedication to youth welfare.
“We will continue to prioritise the well-being of our youths by providing an environment that allows them to discover and harness their God-given potential,” he stated.
Governor Fubara also lauded the NYSC’s management for their efforts in enhancing the Skill Acquisition and Entrepreneurship Development (SAED) programme.
He acknowledged the programme’s role in empowering corps members to become self-sufficient post-service.
Rivers State NYSC Coordinator, Mr. George Mfongang, praised the corps members for their patriotic contributions to nation-building over the past 51 years.
He encouraged the new inductees to view their mobilisation into the National Service as a unique opportunity to foster unity, socio-economic development, and peace across the nation.
