Rivers state governor, Nyesom Wike has signed into contract the construction of Oyigbo-Okoloma Road in Oyigbo Local Government Area of the state.
The governor has also put to pen the construction of Chokocho-Igbodo Road in Etche Local Government Area.
Wike noted that awarding such important contracts near the end of the administration required a government that cared about the people’s growth and well-being.
The Rivers state governor said;
“Today we signed the contract for the construction of the Oyigbo-Okoloma Road in Oyigbo LGA and the Chokocho-Igbodo Road in Etche Local Government Area.”
The construction of the 19.1km Oyigbo-Okoloma Road was awarded to Lubrik Construction Company, while the 27.4km Chokocho-Igbodo Road, was awarded to SETRACO Nigeria Limited.
The governor spoke immediately after the Rivers Government inked a contract with SETRACO at the Government House in Port Harcourt.
“I am glad we are able to fulfill this important promise to our people. Both projects have a contract span 12 months,” Wike added.
Despite the fact that the 19.4-kilometer Oyigbo-Okoloma and 27.1-kilometer Chokocho-Igbodo roads belong to the Federal Government, the Governor said the State government opted to award the contracts to help the people of the two local government areas.
