Residents of Rivers State have been assured of adequate security during the Christmas and New Year celebrations by the State Police Command.

The Command disclosed in statement on Tuesday that Gunboats, officers, and materials have been deployed to strategic points in the state.

The command also stated that it is battle ready to ensure that the state’s celebration goes off without a hitch.

Residents were encouraged to keep away from crime and criminality since anyone caught would be prosecuted according to the law.

Residents were also advised to observe the restriction on unlicensed sirens and tinted glasses, with defaulters being arrested and prosecuted.

According to the announcement, a taskforce has been formed to guarantee that the Commissioner of Police, Eboka Friday’s direction is followed.
