Dave Umahi, the Chairman of the South-East Governors Forum and the Governor of Ebonyi State, has officially informed President Muhammadu Buhari of his intention to run for 2023 presidency under the APC.

This comes just 24 hours after the APC’s national head announced his ambition for the presidency in 2023.

Governor Umahi addressed the State House Correspondents on Tuesday after meeting with President Buhari.

Senator Orji Uzor Kalu, in a similar spirit, has proclaimed his intention to also run for presidency in 2023.

Senator Kalu stated that while he has nothing against APC national leader Bola Tinubu’s presidential ambitions, he believes the South-East is ready for the presidency and that it should be the region’s turn to produce the next President.
