The National Chairman of Labour Party, Comrade Julius Abure, has officially dissolved the Labour Party State Executive Council of Rivers State with immediate effect.
The state executive council was dissolved due to flagrant anti-party behavior and corruption in the handling of Labour Party finances.
The dissolution and dismissal were announced in a special statement released on Tuesday afternoon by Kenneth Okonkwo, the party’s spokesperson.
The National Chairman feels that it is in the best interests of the Labour Party and the Obidient movement in Rivers State that those in positions of authority when their presidential mandate was openly stolen in the State resign until a thorough investigation into what transpired on that particular day is conducted.
The National Chairman allegedly lost faith in the capacity of the infiltrated State Executive Council, headed by Mr. Deinye Pepple, to organize the campaign for the March 11th governorship and State House of Assembly elections.
He asked all Obidients in Rivers State to ignore all remarks made about the election of March 11th by the deposed state chairman of the Labour Party, Deinye Pepple, and reaffirmed the entire support of the Labour Party for Beatrice Itubo as the future governor of Rivers State.
Thus, he urges all Obidients to cast their votes for Comrade Beatrice Itubo of the Labour Party in large numbers on March 11.
