The General Overseer of Omega Power Ministries (OPM), Apostle Chinyere Gift Chibuzor, has described the reported assualt and arrest of Nollywood veteran, Chiwetalu Agu, by Nigerian soldiers as pure wickedness.

This came after a video circulating on social media since on Thursday afternoon showed the men in military uniform confronting actor Chiwetalu Agu before dragging and whisking him away

The man of God took to his social media page to express his displeasure and questioned why soldiers would allegedly beat up an old man because of what he wore.

He wrote on his Facebook page saying:

“Why would they beat an old man because of what he is wearing? In developed countries you can wear anything you want as long as you cover your body? This is pure wickedness.”

The OPM Pastor further stressed;

“Attacking an unarmed old man is not a sign of strength. It’s a sign of weakness.”

Meanwhile, the army in a statement has confirmed Agu’s arrest for inciting members of the public to join the proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) but denied assaulting him.
