Di Ministry of Education don especially tell all private schools for Rivers say dem must strictly follow di government-approved academic calendar for di 2026/2027 academic session.

Di ministry don call on school proprietors, administrators, parents and guardians make dem take note of di resumption date and make sure dem comply.

Di announcement carry di signature of em Excellency, Dr. Mina Tele Ikuru, FSM, FCAI, MNIM, Permanent Secretary, Rivers State Ministry of Education, and e dey dated September 3, 2026.

“The Rivers State Ministry of Education wishes to inform the general public that all Primary and Secondary Schools in the State will resume for the First Term of the 2026/2027 Academic Session on Monday, 7th September, 2026.

Accordingly, all public and private schools operating in the State are expected to commence academic and non-academic activities on the approved resumption date, and to operate strictly in accordance with the prescribed guidelines.

2026/2027 Academic Calendar: Rivers Govt Don Announce Date For Schools Resumption 

All private schools are further required to adhere strictly to the Government-approved Academic Calendar for the 2026/2027 Academic Session.

The general public, school proprietors, administrators, parents and guardians are enjoined to take note and comply accordingly.”
