The United States Embassy in Nigeria recently revealed that over 150,000 Nigerians, including 30,000 students, underwent interviews for visas to the US this year.
Mr. David Greene, the embassy’s head, shared this information during an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria in Abuja, Hitvibz reports
Greene highlighted the tremendous demand for visa appointments, surpassing the available slots, specifically mentioning efforts being made to bridge this gap.
“What folks do not know is that this year, we have interviewed more than 150,000 Nigerians. This is in addition to the 30,000 students. Hundreds of thousands of students have had the opportunity to seek visas from the US,” he said.
Greene emphasised the ample opportunities for numerous students seeking visas to the US.
The speaker stressed their commitment to accommodating all applicant categories while addressing the backlog caused by COVID-19.
Additionally, progress was noted in implementing a five-year term for US visas starting in March, marking a positive step forward.
