Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Ezenwo Wike, has urged Christians to embrace the Christmas period to promote love, peace, and unity. 
Governor Wike exhorted the Christian faithful to be devoted to the worthy principles symbolized by the birth of Jesus Christ in a Christmas message issued by his Special Assistant on Media, Kelvin Ebiri.
The governor also urged Nigerians to pray for Rivers state and Nigeria. He stated that the state will continue to improve as long as his administration is based on God and the people’s wishes.
He encouraged residents of the state to use the season to strengthen their trust in God, who holds the answer to all societal problems.
Governor Wike reassured the people of the state that his administration is collaborating with all security agencies to guarantee a calm holiday season.
The governor told the people that his administration would continue to work to create a new Rivers State in which everyone would benefit from the state government’s programs and projects.
Governor Wike wished the people of Rivers State a Merry Christmas and advised them to enjoy responsibly, adhere to Covid-19 protocols and traffic rules, and work with security services throughout and after the holiday season.
