Rivers state deputy governor, CAN, RSCIA react as the Rivers State House of Assembly on Wednesday held a public hearing on two bills.
The bills are the Rivers State Prohibition of the Curtailment of the Rights of Women to Share in Family Property Bill 2022, sponsored by Member representing Obio Akpor constituency 2, Michael Chindah, and the Compulsory Treatment and Care for Victims of Gunshots Bill 2022, sponsored by the member representing Emohua constituency, Sam Ogeh.
In her special submission, the Rivers State Deputy Governor, Ipalibo Harry Banigo represented by Asemota Usifo spoke in support of the bill to become law.
The Christian Association of Nigeria and the Rivers State Council of Islamic Affairs both backed the Compulsory Treatment and Care for Victims of Gunshot Bill 2022, arguing that it is in keeping with religious belief.
Hitvibz gathered that Dumle Maol, the head of the house committee, stated that the committee will convene to coordinate important submissions on both bills.
