The Rivers State Taskforce on Street Trading and Illegal Motor Parks has stated that illegal parking on public highways will not be tolerated next year.

In a statement, the Agency stated that the prohibition will be vigorously enforced beginning in January of next year.

Despite the fact that the restriction was enforced by arresting defaulters and impounding their vehicles, motorists continued to flout the order, according to the report.

It urged motorists in the state to stop doing so because state officials are on the lookout for noncompliance and not to victimise anyone.

The agency is also doing everything in its ability to ensure traffic decongestion in the state and to better serve the people, according to the statement.
