According to the governor, being the head of a family as a traditional ruler has huge duties and will compel him to change his lifestyle, but he must not disappoint his people.

On Tuesday, Governor Wike delivered the keynote address at Chief Boma lyaye’s installation as Fifika Chiri V at St. Martins Anglican School field, Tende-Ama in Ogu town, Ogu/Bolo Local Government Area, Rivers State.

The governor advised Rivers State Commissioner of Sport, Chief Iyaye, to be attentive in holding regular meetings with members of the house to build the link and handle problems as they occur.

Frankly speaking, let me thank you for allowing him to ascend to this throne. It is everybody’s ambition in life that you must not allow your family stool to die. It doesn’t matter whatever level you may find yourself. If you leave it, history will not forgive you.”

Chief Boma lyaye noted in his address that when he was called upon by his people, he put aside his timidity about traditional and cultural matters and accepted the role of traditional ruler.

Chief Boma made a public vow to his people that he would always fight for justice and give excellent leadership.

He also complimented Governor Wike for continuing to play a positive role in his life.
