According to reports, Governor Nyesom Wike, Samuel Ortom of Benue State, and Okezie Ikpeazu of Abia State traveled to London again for more consultations.
A source claims that the governor of Oyo State, Seyi Makinde, who is currently on holiday abroad, will join them.
In preparation for the elections in 2023, the governor of Rivers State and his associates left on Friday for another round of deliberations in London, United Kingdom.
Despite unsuccessful attempts to get state government officials to verify this, stories in The Punch states that the governor and his entourage reportedly departed the nation on Friday.
As you may recall, when they were in the UK a few days ago, the PDP governors met with PDP Presidential candidate – Atiku Abubakar, APC Presidential Candidate, Bola Tinubu, Labour Party Presidential candidate, Peter Obi, and former president, Olusegun Obasanjo.
The meetings are taking place as the PDP situation has gotten worse over Wike’s demand that Iyorchia Ayu, the party’s national chairman, resign.
The Rivers state governor is pushing for Ayu’s dismissal because to his alleged involvement in Atiku Abubakar’s selection as the PDP’s presidential candidate.
With regard to the selection of his running mate, Delta State Governor Ifeanyi Okowa, Wike has been at odds with the presidential candidate of his party.
He has already met with prominent APC members, notably Rotimi Akeredolu, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, Aliyu Wamakko, the speaker of the house of representatives, Femi Gbajabiamila, the governors of Ondo and Lagos states, Kayode Fayemi, and the party’s presidential candidate, Bola Tinubu.
