The Nigeria Labour Congress in Rivers State has announced that it will participate in a nationwide protest on January 27 against a planned increase in the price of petrol.

Beatrice Itubo, the state chairperson of the NLC, stated this to reporters shortly after the NLC State Executive Council meeting in Port Harcourt.

She further stated that the NLC in the state will work to ensure that the state government’s tripartite committee’s agreement is carried out.

During the conference, an eleven-man action committee was formed to mobilise people for the planned protest.
