Some residents of Port Harcourt are complaining of random deductions on their prepaid meters by the Port Harcourt Electricity Distribution Company, PHEDC. 
These residents claim the deductions were made as a result of metre payment defaults, according to Nigeria Info.
Some allege that up to 75% of deductions were made from their prepaid customer accounts, and that receipt of payment demonstrates that the debt was serviced.
Meanwhile, PHEDC is yet to issue a statement on the matter.
