Rochas Okorocha, the former governor of Imo State and senator representing Imo West, has clarified his membership in the All Progressives Congress.
He stated that his membership in the ruling party is unaffected. This was declared by the former governor in Abuja on Monday, when he publicly announced his ambition to run for president in the 2023 general elections.
Recall that he and his supporters are said to have boycotted the APC’s registration and revalidation exercise last year. He maintains that claiming he is not a member of the party he co-founded is a farce.
Meanwhile, Aminu Tambuwal, the governor of Sokoto State, said on Monday that he will run for President in 2023 as a member of the People’s Democratic Party.
After a stakeholders’ meeting in Sokoto, the former Speaker of the House of Representatives made the announcement.
