Former Governor of Imo State, Rochas Okorocha, has been charged with 17 counts of fraud totaling N2.9 billion by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).
Okorocha was accused of conspiring with others to steal from public funds in accusations filed on Monday at the Federal High Court in Abuja.
The charges were filed about the same time Senator Okorocha was declaring his intention to run for the office of the president in 2023.
Anyim Nyerere Chinenye, Naphtali International Limited, Perfect Finish Multi Projects Limited, Consolid Projects Consulting Limited, Pramif International Limited, and Legend World Concepts Limited have all been charged with Okorocha.
The EFCC accused them of conspiring to steal N2.9 billion in public monies in 17 charges filed on Monday at the Federal High Court in Abuja.
