Tonye Cole, the governorship candidate of All Progressives Congress, APC in Rivers State, has at long last announced the terms under which he will withdraw his petition from the Elections Tribunal.
The agreement reached by the All Progressives Congress and Governor Nyesom Wike prior to the presidential election was deemed unnecessary by Tonye Cole.
Cole said that even without Governor Wike, the APC would have won the state’s presidential election. He made this claim during an appearance on Arise News on Thursday.
He claimed that they contributed heavily to the success of APC and noted that the party also won the governorship election in Rivers.
He insisted that in order to restore his stolen mandate, he would surely contest the election results.
Cole went on to say that he would only rescind his appeal to the Elections Tribunal if the offer was strong and took into account all those Rivers residents who had died prior to, during, and after the elections.
Q: Will you withdraw the petition at the Election Tribunal if President-Elect, Bola Ahmed Tinubu offers you a deal, or a portfolio in his cabinet?
Tonye Cole: "The offer has to be compelling. Till we see the deal."#PHTwitterCommunity pic.twitter.com/NIUhA9RnAj

Recall how the Rivers PDP urged Cole to revoke his petition after SDP candidate Magnus Abe did so a few days back?
