Senator Douye Diri, the governor of Bayelsa state, has praised Nyesom Wike, the governor of Rivers state, for his development achievements, stating that he has set a very high bar for governance in the state.
Governor of Bayelsa State, Senator Douye Diri, spoke at the commissioning of the Mgbuoshimini Nkpor Road project, expressing his delight with Governor Wike’s huge transformation of Rivers State.
Senator Diri, who praised Governor Wike for smart implementation of his urban revitalization programme, adding that he has established a high bar for administration that cannot be lowered in the state.
“Today, I can tell you that Governor Wike has simplified governance. Most of us who lived in Port Harcourt before now, if we come back now, we will lose our way. This is because the governor has turned Port Harcourt with his urban renewal policies to something different,” he said.
“And as I was coming, I was a victim because I kept asking where are we? Which flyover is this one? And so, he is also Mr. Flyover. Governor Wike has set a very high bar for governance in Rivers State. Those who want to take over, please, go back end think because this bar that has been set, if you don’t meet it, the people will stone you.”
The Rivers State Governor also praised his Bayelsa State colleague, Douye Diri, for his outstanding performance and infrastructure delivery to his people despite being in his first term as governor.
Governor Wike expressed the optimism that Governor Diri’s present track record will help him get a second term.
