The Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, is resolved, according to Rivers State Governor Nyesom Ezenwo Wike, to improve quality of life and remove the economic hardships imposed on Nigerians by the All Progressives Congress (APC)-led Federal Government.
The governor issued the assurance on Wednesday during the inauguration of the 3.5-kilometer Mgbuoshimini-Nkpor Road in Rumuolumeni, Rivers State’s Obio/Akpor Local Government Area.
Governor Wike, on the other hand, advised Nigerians to show that they are sick of the APC’s awful leadership style by voting them out of office in 2023 using their voter’s card.
The APC gropes in failure, according to Rivers State Governor, because it lacks the quality of producing effective governance in its camp.
“If this crowd that have come out here will come out in 2023, the election will be free. If you don’t change the bad government, you too, you are part of the bad government. So, use your Voter’s Card to throw away this government at the federal level that has killed Nigeria. That has made hunger, and poverty to be everywhere. People don’t have jobs, hard economy policy that does not work. But by the grace of God, PDP will change all these,” Wike said.
Wike stated that because the APC cannot provide what it does not have, the PDP is preparing to lead a national infrastructure development revolution that will begin in 2023.
He promised that the leadership in place at that time would not make excuses, but would be dedicated to developing the country’s economy and restoring hope and meaningful life.
“It is only in PDP States that you can see commissioning of projects. While the other (APC) governors are meeting their president on whether convention will hold or not, we are doing projects upon projects. So, that is what Nigeria will witness when PDP takes over in 2023. It will be revolution in infrastructure. There will be no excuses at all. APC government has nothing to offer. It is said that you cannot give what you don’t have,” he said.
Governor Wike went on to say that politics is supposed to be about service, and that the people should always hold politicians accountable for their promises if they fail to use the chance to serve the public.
According to him, the year 2023 would provide another moment for voters to demand what they want and to punish politicians who have consistently broken their promises.
