Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, a former governor of Lagos State, has indicated that he intends to officially inform Nigerians about his desire to run for president in 2023.
He announced this on Tuesday, December 14, after a closed-door meeting with leaders of the Northern Alliance Committee (NAC) in Abuja.
He claims that he has to brainstorm with his associates and hold numerous consultations before revealing his true intentions to Nigerians.
Tinubu, one of the APC’s national leaders, said he would not turn down the countless requests from followers and admirers for him to run for president in 2023.
“I am not going to turn them down but I will still effectively and widely consult, particularly brainstorm with my friends and find a date to come out openly and tell Nigerians,” Tinubu said.
He added;
“But the President is still in office. I don’t want to distract him from all the challenges he might face today. So, don’t muddle the political waters. Consult, make our programme known to the people later. And the intention is clear. So, you can keep guessing.”
