To commemorate this year’s Eid-el-Kabir celebration, the Federal Government has announced Monday, July 11, and Tuesday, July 12, 2022, as public holidays.FG declares July 11th and 12th as public holiday to mark Eid-el Kabir

Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola, the interior minister who made the announcement on behalf of the federal government, extends his congratulations to all Nigerians and Muslims both at home and abroad on this special day, .

I call on Muslims to continue to imbibe the spirit of love, peace, kindness and sacrifice, as exemplified by the Holy Prophet Muhammad (Peace be upon Him) and to also use the period to pray for peace, unity, prosperity and the stability of the country, considering the challenges of insecurity we face at the moment” Aregbesola added.

President Muhammadu Buhari’s administration, the minister said, is “dedicated to the security of lives and properties of all Nigerians, the empowerment of citizens for successful living, the delivery of social investment projects, and adequate security in the schools.”

While wishing Muslims a happy Eid-el-Kabir, Aregbesola urged Nigerians to take responsibility by using the N-Alerts application to report any possible suspect or criminal activity they saw nearby to law enforcement agencies.

This is particularly important during this festival because N-Alerts has been created to assist alleviate security problems by quick response from security agencies, he noted.

He also urged all Nigerians to watch out for intruders in their neighborhoods.

We must all take responsibility for the security of lives and property as we celebrate this year’s festival,” he said.

Aregbesola pleaded for all Nigerians to unite, combine our resources, and put our heads, hearts, and souls together in order to reach a state of relative calm for peaceful coexistence and put an end to insecurities in Nigeria.

The Minister reassured all Nigerians that the government will uphold the rule of law, maintain law and order, and preserve peace at all times.
