During the swearing-in ceremony of the 2024 Batch B Stream I corps members at the NYSC orientation camp in Paiko, Niger State, Governor Bago announced a series of initiatives aimed at improving their experience, Hitvibz reports.

Among the announcements, Governor Bago disclosed a generous gift of N200,000 to each corps member as a “bonus” from Niger farms, totaling approximately N320 million for the 1,600 corps members.

This financial support is intended to ensure their comfort during their service year in Niger State.

In addition to the monetary bonus, Governor Bago presented 20 cows and a trailer load of rice to the corps members, highlighting the state’s commitment to their welfare.

He emphasised the importance of these gifts in facilitating a pleasant and productive stay for the corps members.

This initiative aims to provide modern facilities that will enhance the training and living conditions of future corps members in the state.

In a statement by the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Bologi Ibrahim, Governor Bago also assured corps members of automatic employment opportunities in the medical field upon completion of their service.

Governor Bago reiterated the government’s focus on ensuring the security and well-being of all corps members serving in Niger State.

He encouraged them to participate in the state’s agricultural revolution initiative, facilitated by Niger Foods Limited, which offers support for those interested in pursuing agriculture.

The swearing-in ceremony, which witnessed the administration of the oath of allegiance by Justice Mariya Ismail on behalf of the Chief Judge of Niger State, Justice Halima AbdulMalik, marked the beginning of the orientation course for 1,301 corps members under the 2024 NYSC Batch B Stream I.
