A lawyer and a PDP chieftain have reportedly been abducted in Rivers State, and the state police command has launched a manhunt for the kidnappers.

The incident is said to have occurred around Jephthah axis of the East-West Road in Port Harcourt, the state capital of Rivers as he was abducted on Monday afternoon.

Hitvibz understands that his automobile was double-crossed, which resulted in a fierce gunfight between the kidnappers and his police escort.

As a result, two persons died on the spot, and three others are currently seeking medical attention at the hospital.

According to sources, the gunmen opened fire on the car and fatally shot the driver and another individual who was traveling in the party chieftain’s convoy.

Grace Iringe-Koko, the Rivers State Police Command’s public relations officer, reports that CP Okon Effiong, the police commissioner, has sent out a tactical squad to make sure the man kidnapped is released.

SP Iringe-Koko said that the man’s personal aide was murdered in the incident but withheld the man’s identification.

According to her, the police officers who were assigned to the man were also hurt and are now undergoing medical attention at the hospital.
