The joint efforts of law enforcement and community security yielded fruitful results, as they were able to recover firearms and rescue a kidnap victim.

The Commissioner of Police for Rivers State, CP Nwonyi Emeka, announced this significant achievement on Friday.

According to CP Emeka, the victim was rescued during a meticulously planned operation, which involved raiding a forest near the Choba Bridge along the East-West Road.

The victim had been kidnapped while traveling home along the Salvation Ministry Road in Rumuosi.

CP Emeka highlighted another recent accomplishment by the police force.

He noted that, during a routine patrol along the Rumuokwuta-Rumuigbo link road, a team of policemen attached to the Intelligence and Surveillance Centre of the police in Port Harcourt made a noteworthy discovery.

The officers successfully recovered several firearms from a minibus after its occupants fled upon spotting the police.

The Rivers State Police Command is committed to maintaining peace and security in the state.

Through their relentless efforts, they continue to crack down on criminal activities and ensure the safety of residents.
