In a new development for the people of northern Nigeria, the Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) has announced exciting updates regarding power restoration in the region.
After a substantial blackout due to damage to key transmission lines, TCN is hard at work, aiming for a full recovery by November 3, Footballrover reports.
However, the road to the power restoration in northern Nigeria involves more than just repairs; intriguing strategies are being implemented to ensure residents can access electricity sooner than expected.
During a recent press briefing in Abuja, TCN’s managing director, Sule Abdulaziz, shed light on the ongoing efforts.
He revealed that temporary measures have been established to deliver 400 megawatts of electricity to select areas within just 24 hours.

This interim solution by TCN is to minimise the impact of the outage while essential repairs are carried out.
As repairs progress on the Ugwuaji–Apir transmission lines, Abdulaziz reassured the public that a significant restoration of power is on the horizon.
By Sunday, it is projected that between 500 to 600 megawatts will be made available to the northern region, bringing relief to countless residents who have been affected by the outage.
Adding to the urgency of the situation, President Bola Tinubu has mandated TCN to expedite the restoration process.
In a strategic move, he has also enlisted national security adviser Nuhu Ribadu to provide necessary security support for the crews working on these crucial repairs.
With engineers deployed and operations underway, the TCN is determined to ensure that power restoration in northern Nigeria proceeds without further setbacks.
