A 21-Year-Old man has been arrested and charge with the murder of Pregnant Girlfriend. He is accused of giving her abortion pills that resulted in her death.
A Chief Magistrate Court sitting in Yola, Adamawa State has ordered that Muhammed Zubairu, a 21-year-old photographer to be remanded in custody for the death of Miss Sane Fidelis who was his pregnant girlfriend.
Mr Muhammed Zubairu, appeared in court on Monday, November 29, with the charge of criminal conspiracy and causing death by an act done with an intent to cause abortion.
This act is in violation of sections 60 and 204 of the penal code.
The suspect admitted in court to having sex with the deceased on three occasions, and when the Miss Fidelis informed him that she was pregnant they supplied some abortion pills to terminate the pregnancy.
Muhammed added that he insisted that deceased take the drugs which she did on the spot after which she started having stomach pain and later died of complications and later died at the specialist hospital in Yola.
Magistrate Alheri Ishaku has adjourned the case until 13th December 2021 and the requested the suspect is to remain in police custody without bail.
