Charles Chukwuma Soludo, the newly sworn-in Governor of Anambra state, has expressed concern over the state of the state’s economy, which he described the finance of the state as “in bad shape.”
On Tuesday, during the Arise TV Morning Show, Soludo claimed that his predecessor, Willie Obiano, had left the state with a mere pittance of between N300 and N400 million.
He further stated that his predecessor left him with a massive debt amounting to hundreds of billions of naira, underlining that the state finances are in horrible health and in desperate need of repair.
Following this alarming revelation, Ndi Anambra is reported to have resorted to social media to chastise the former governor, who is presently detained by the EFCC on allegations of fraud and financial wrongdoing while serving as governor of Anambra State.
