On Saturday, Dr. Andrew Igwe marked the 15th anniversary celebration of his foundation, the Dr. Andrew A. Igwe Care Foundation (DAAICF) in Ogba Egbema Ndoni Local Government Area.

The event, themed “15 YEARS OF SUPPORTING THE BACK BONES,” was chaired by Engr. Vincent Nnadi Eze Ochuma Ariri 1 of Egi Kingdom, drawing the presence of notable dignitaries, Hitvibz reports.

The Deputy Governor of Rivers State, Prof. Ngozi Nma Odu, graced the occasion alongside other esteemed guests like His Eminence, Dr. Barr. Nwachukwu Obuoha Nnam, the Eze Ogba of Ogbaland, Hon. Vincent Job, the Executive Chairman of ONELGA LGA, among others.

While expressing his gratitude, Dr. Andrew acknowledged the presence of dignitaries, particularly highlighting the Deputy Governor’s honour in commemorating this significant milestone.

He also acknowledged and praised the dedicated individuals whose voluntary efforts and dedication kept and sustained the foundation’s operations.

“We will continue in our pursuit to make the care foundation better. It is our quest that even those that don’t have what it takes will have equal opportunities with those that do,” Dr. Andrew noted.

Meanwhile, the Deputy Governor, Prof. Ngozi Nma Odu, in her remark, reciprocated the warm welcome and celebration received at the event, extending appreciation and blessings to all attendees.

Commending Dr. Andrew’s impactful work in capacity building and education, she emphasised the need for others to emulate his exemplary efforts and preserve his legacy.

She also took time to acknowledge the steadfast support of Dr. Andrew’s wife, Barr. Joy Andrew-Igwe.

Prof. Odu stated that Egi will be sustained by the giving back spirit, revealing that the world’s largest universities are funded by individuals who make charitable contributions.

“Today I am challenging each and every one of us including myself that let us inculcate the spirit of giving back, when everybody gives back in their own little way, you are going to get a lot of mileage”. Prof. Odu stressed.

The Deputy Governor concluded her address by recognising Dr. Andrew’s financial contributions and moral supoort during the gubernatorial election.

The festivities continued with a Thanksgiving service on December 24th at the Assemblies of God Church, AGI, Akabuka Town, ONELGA, Rivers State.

A Philanthropic Journey Rooted in Education

Dr. Andrew Igwe’s journey stems from his father’s philanthropic legacy in Akabuka.

Dr. Andrew, who was driven by his father’s belief in education as the gateway to a prosperous life, pursued the highest level of education, earning a Master’s in Occupational Health, Safety, and Environmental Management.

His passion for education propels him to facilitate quality education for those around him.
