The Federal Road Safety Corp, FRSC in Rivers State has threatened to prosecute drivers who use expired licence plates in the state.
Despite a series of warnings, the agency warned today that many drivers are still using old plate numbers.
It frowned upon motorists’ refusal to obtain their driver’s licence, noting that a high number of licences remain unclaimed in their office.
Those whose driver’s licences have expired and they have yet to obtain one, according to the statement, should go to their office and obtain one.
It further stated that drivers driving without a licence is a crime, and that anyone caught doing so will be prosecuted.
