A malnourished 7-year-old girl starved and neglected her by her aunt has reportedly been rescued in Osun state.
The 7-year-old girl resided with her aunt in Osogbo area of Osun state before she was liberated.
The aunt, on the other hand, is believed to have fed her only once a week before abandoning her in the house’s backyard, in an environment that looked more like a garbage dump.
After learning about the girl’s situation, the Osun State Ministry of Women, Children, and Social Affairs rescued her.
The rescue, which took place a few days ago in Osogbo, the state capital, was carried out by authorities from the ministry in partnership with the state Police Command.
The malnourished 7-year-old girl was in horrible shape when she was discovered.
She was quite frail and unable to stand. She had shattered bones as well.
The state government has assumed possession of the girl and has committed to provide her with shelter, education, food, and medical treatment.
