The PDP in Rivers State has refuted claims that its supporters fought EFCC officials to avoid the arrest of its governorship candidate Siminilaye Fubara at Omagwa International Airport in Port Harcourt.
Desmond Akawor, the state chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP told newsmen that the viral video depicted a combat between airport officials and not EFCC.
He noted that some of the party’s supporters who were at the airport to greet the governorship candidate as he returned from Abuja, where he had gone to receive his certificate of return.
The Rivers PDP Chairman, however, stated that none of the EFCC officials were present at the airport when they returned last night, and that the party has dispatched a team to the airport management to apologize.
