Rivers State Governor Nyesom Ezenwo Wike is in Madrid, Spain for the ratification of the protocol framework co-operation agreement with Real Madrid.
The co-operation agreement forms the basis of the establishment and running of the Real Madrid Academy in Port Harcourt.
The Madrid Football Academy Port Harcourt which is an initiative of Governor Wike is aimed at nurturing young football talents to maximize their sporting potential while also developing academically.
The Academy which admits children from ages 9-12 has screened and admitted its pioneer students who are set to commence their sporting/academic development.
Also in Madrid is Abia State Governor, Okezie Ikpazu who is reviewing the Rivers State Real Madrid Academy Model with the intention of setting up a similar Academy in the state.
