According to Sahara Reporters, Blessing allegedly deceived her mother by taking Friday under the pretence of enrolling him in a better school in Mubi, a city about 40 kilometres away.

However, her true motive was far more sinister.

Blessing reportedly sold Friday to Efunaya Nabufe, a 35-year-old suspected child trafficker, who then transported the young boy to Enugu, southeastern Nigeria.

Blessing’s justification for this heinous act? To fund her own traditional wedding.

“I used the money to buy a grinding machine to start a business and also gave my boyfriend N200,000 for our traditional wedding,” she confessed.

The victim’s mother, Hauwa Lawan, residing in Rimirgo, Borno State, is understandably devastated by her daughter’s actions.

Hauwa revealed that Blessing had visited her in 2023, fabricating a story about enrolling Friday in a better school due to their village’s lack of proper educational facilities.

For an entire year, Blessing maintained a web of lies, deflecting her mother’s attempts to contact Friday.

Hauwa, unsuspecting of her daughter’s cruelty, never reported him missing.

The truth only came to light when Blessing’s fiancé, upon meeting Hauwa, demanded to know about Friday’s whereabouts.

Cornered, Blessing resorted to another lie, claiming her brother was dead.

However, the father of the child consulted an oracle, which revealed the child was alive.

Confronted with this revelation, Blessing finally admitted to selling Friday to a woman in Enugu.

This newfound information empowered Hauwa to report Blessing and Efunaya Nabufe to the authorities, leading to their swift arrest.

Hitvibz understands. that the Adamawa State Police Command is currently investigating the case.

Blessing and Efunaya are expected to face charges for child trafficking and possibly kidnapping.
