Nine students from Community Secondary School in Ogbogoro, Rivers State, reportedly lost their lives in an accident as a truck carrying building site chippings crushed them to death.
The unfortunate tragedy, according to Vanguard, unfolded at Ogbogoro Community in the state’s Obio/Akpor Local Government Area on Friday.
The nine students were riding the popular tricycle – Keke Napep home from school when it collided with the large vehicle.
Hitvibz gathered that before the unfortunate event occurred, the nine students—all of whom are friends—were riding home in the same tricycle.
Three of the students, according to one Ogechi Micah, perished at the scene, while six others, who were transported to the hospital with the tricycle driver, eventually died on Saturday.
She revealed that two of the teenagers involved in the accident were a set of twins and that one of them died immediately.
“The incident is tragic. A tipper carrying chippings killed students today. The tipper crushed a Keke. The keke has nine students. Three of them died there. We are hearing that the remaining victims and the driver have also died.” – Ogechi said.
