According to the Rivers State Police Command, four suspected kidnappers terrorising Egwi-Etche and the Etche Local Government Area have been apprehended.

The kidnappers seized one Pastor Jeremiah Atelibo of Salvation Ministry Church, Port Harcourt, on February 28, 2022, according to Acting Police spokesperson Grace Iringe-Koko.

The four accused were identified as Barisi Yikes, 31, Chinedu Simeon, 28, Justice Obodo, 32, and Jeffrey, 28 years old.

According to the statement, the victim was freed unharmed, and the kidnappers were found with a locally made revolver and three live rounds, among other items.

Meanwhile, the state Police Command have also shot and killed two suspects who kidnapped one Karibo Awantaye, a Bolt driver, near Eneka Road, and recovered his Toyota Corolla vehicle on the 19th of March, 2022.

The ransom money and charms were discovered, according to acting Police spokesperson Grace Iringe Koko, and the victim was rescued unharmed.

She also stated that attempts are being made to apprehend the other fugitives.
