The Chairman of Oyigbo Local Government Area of Rivers state – Hon. Okechukwu Akara Nwaogu, has taken additional action to speed up the construction of the Oyigbo-Afam road.
After receiving numerous complaints from the public regarding the speed at which construction was being done on the road, the Oyigbo chairman paid an impromptu visit to the Lubriks Construction Company management.
The Rivers state government awarded the Oyigbo-Afam road to Lubrik Construction Company, and the Oyigbo chairman, Hon. Okechukwu Akara Nwaogu, visited them at their headquarters in Port-Harcourt.
Hon. Okechukwu also visited the sites where the roads were being constructed to evaluate and determine the obstacles that slowed down the construction of the roads.
In his response, the site supervisor pointed out the unavailability of alternate routes for drivers, claiming it is one of the main obstacles hindering the progress of the project in the area.
The chairman, however, encouraged the company to pick up the pace and perhaps add more personnel after praising the quality of the job done so far.
