A fire incident in Rumuchakara, Choba in the Obio/Akpor Local Government Area of Rivers State have reportedly claimed the lives of three siblings.

According to reports, the fire incident happened late on Monday.

In an interview with media today, the father of the deceased children claimed that three additional children had sustained severe burns in addition to the three who had been burned beyond recognition.

The cause of the fire has not yet been determined as he refuted accusations that a lit candle in his home started the fire and stated that the origin of the blaze is still unknown.

However, according to eyewitnesses, a candle the kids were using to write their schoolwork was actually what started the fire.
