In response to the likelihood of Governor Nyesom Wike becoming the Vice Presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, memes and comments have continued to flood social media.

A lot of Nigerians shared their opinions following online speculations that a PDP committee had nominated Governor Wike as the running mate of the party’s presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar.

Hitvibz gathered that Nyesom Wike is the primary choice to pair with Atiku Abubakar as running mate, after a panel of opposition politicians recommended the Rivers state governor.

The panel noted that the Rivers governor will fare better for the ticket as vice-presidential candidate than his main competitors.

Governor Ifeanyi Okowa of Delta was suggested as the second-best politician to pair with Mr Abubakar, while Governor Udom Emmanuel of Akwa Ibom was suggested as the third-best politician.

Many social media users have criticized the outcome as a horrible idea. Some believe that if both men win, they will be too preoccupied with fighting one other to improve the country.

Others believe the governor would be more effective as a campaign director general.

Some Port Harcourt residents who spoke to our correspondent disagreed, claiming that if his party wins the election, Governor Wike has the capacity to serve as Vice President and improve the country.
