As the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC set to hold its presidential primary poll in Abuja ahead of the general election in 2023, President Muhammadu Buhari has claimed that he has no favourite aspirant.2023: I’ve not anointed any APC aspirant - Buhari insists

The President also maintained that he has anointed no aspirant and that he is committed to ensuring that no candidate shall be imposed on the party.

President Buhari stated that the party is essential, and its members must be valued and made to feel relevant, during a meeting with 13 out of 14 APC governors from the north of the country at the State House in Abuja.

The President declared that he was in complete control of his actions and wanted the APC Governors to feel the same way.

You were elected as I was. Have a clear mind as I have. God gave us the chance; we have no reason to complain. We must be ready to take pain as we take the joy. Allow the delegates to decide. The Party must participate, nobody will appoint anybody.” – Bihari said

As news of the APC chairman, Abdullahi Adamu, endorsing Senate President Ahmad Lawan, supposedly with Buhari’s consent, the President wanted to dispel any questions about where he stands on the pick of a presidential candidate for the party.
