He urges workers to be patient and supportive of the Rivers State Government’s efforts to address the challenges collectively.

In challenging times, difficult decisions must be made. The governor is committed to using his authority to address the current challenges faced not only by the workers but also by the general public,” Hon Chidi Amadi stated.

The Chairman of the Rivers State Chapter of the Nigeria Labour Congress, Comrade Alex Agwanwor, explained that the protest aimed to highlight the negative impact of subsidy removal on workers and the general public, without sufficient measures to alleviate their suffering.

Comrade Alex Agwanwor applauded the governor’s initiative in providing free subsidy intervention buses and presented a six-point demand, including the immediate implementation of resolutions jointly signed with the government and TUC on these issues, and the reversal of all anti-poor policies, particularly the hike in the price of PMS.
