The IGP Special Taskforce on Petroleum and Illegal Bunkering has apprehended 42 suspected illegal oil refiners and exhibited 41 seized trucks with verified illegal petroleum products.
While speaking to reporters in Port Harcourt, the Force Headquarters’ Acting Spokesman, Olumuyiwa Adejobi, revealed that twenty-two of the suspects apprehended had been charged in court.
The offenders were nabbed in various parts of Rivers State by intelligence policing, he added, while claiming to be conveying various things.
Those who claim police officers are involved in illegal oil activities should produce evidence, according to CSP Adejobi.
