The Sokoto state command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defense Corps (NSCDC) has arrested and detained four persons for suspected kidnapping and cattle rustling in the state.
Mr. Muhammad Dada, the commander of the NSCDC in the state, made the revelation while speaking to journalists in Sokoto on Friday.
According to Dada, the feat was achieved as a result of intelligence information provided by certain nice people in Sokoto state.
According to him, Bello Abdullahi, Bello Abubakar, Abdullahi Oro, and Lawali Sulaiman were apprehended at the NSCDC Tsamiya outpost in Tureta local government.
The accused were caught in line with the April 22 kidnapping of four people in Tureta, for which a ransom of N5 million was demanded.
He further said that on March 16, 2021, the suspects kidnapped another individual in Dange Shuni LGA, for which a ransom of N900,000 was paid.
The suspects were on the command’s wanted list, according to the Commandant, and have now confessed to conducting the alleged crime.
“We have concluded our investigation and very soon the suspects will be charged to court for the further judicial process,” he added.
Dada, on the other hand, called for a greater public commitment to assist the government in solving the country’s security concerns.
